Top Ten Apps that will keep you occupied for less than 30 seconds on an iPod touch/iPhone.

I wont give you the links for these because you don’t need them. If you want them you can search in the app store.

10.  Balls.

This game has some balls of different colours that make a noise when they touch each other or the side. What a waste of time!

9. Air Horn

Press the screen and a horn sounds. Fun. I don’t think you will ever need this. It’s only as loud as the iPod/iPhone can go.

8. GuessMyAge

So it’s guessed your age through a not very clever system. Great. Now what?

7. Cradle

Remember newtons cradle? The frame with the balls on string, when you pull one back and let it go and the one on the other side moves? Thats all this app is. Just incase you didn’t have the privilege to own one.

6. iSimples

Compare the markets new idea. Make an app where the user can play sound clips of that meerkat… Hmm

5. iHandy Level

Unfortunately, your spirit level disappeared, so you can now rely on technology to make sure your house isn’t wonky. Other than that… why?

4. Flashlight

Excuse me while I flash my iPhone around in the pitch black area.

3. Spin the Bottle (Or Spin The Coke)

No need to go hunting for a bottle now, instead of playing it traditionally, you can play it virtually. Please note, you only get to spin a bottle. Thats it.

2. Whiteboard.

I’m going to draw on a small screen with my large finger. What now…

1. Lite Games

They clog up our iPods and iPhones and they really aren’t that good. If you like the game so much why don’t you buy it!

Top Ten Things to do on the internet

10. Surf YouTube

By surf, I mean click on any video. Then from there on you can only watch videos that are on the bar on the right. I did this and started off with a guitar video, and ended up watching a 5-year-old doing a show with his Thomas the tank train set.

9. Start a blog

Just like me. 😀 Email me if you do and ill check it out!

8. ChatRoulette

If you don’t take rejection personally and you don’t mind seeing 50 year olds half-naked then visit this. You have probably heard of it and you do sometimes get a half decent chat with someone.

7. Start a twitter account

You may hate social networking sites, but twitter is slightly different. You can follow famous people and there are some really interesting people on there. Twitter is not about telling the public that you have just had lunch or been to the toilet, you can find out much more about people.

6. Search for something to do

There are plenty of How To websites around, such as instructables, and you might find something interesting to make

5. Read other posts of my blog

Sorry, I had to do it!

4. Been interested in how something works?

Say you want to know how on earth a washing machine cleans clothes or how a piano works, you can go on How Stuff Works (google it) and you can find out how lots of stuff works.

Look for recipes for your dinner tonight!

Top Ten Things you probably didn’t know about Windows 7

10.  That calculator is not so simple

Open the calculator in windows 7 (Start-All Programs-Accessories) then click view. You now have a whole new lot of calculators to use!

9. Gotta Problem?

If you find yourself emailing someone who is trying to help you sort out a problem, you might find it hard trying to describe the problem in the first place. Search ‘Problem Steps Recorder’ in the search box and you can click record, and do what you have to do to get to the problem. This is then shown on a page where you can add notes to what you are doing. This can help the person helping you.

8. Slide show wallpaper

So you have taken lots of pictures on your holiday, but now what? They sit in a folder on your hard drive and that’s about it. Well, do this: Right click on the desktop-click personalize desktop background (down the bottom)- browse- now find the folder with your photos in and click ok. Play around with the settings and click save changes.

7. Please don’t look at what I’m doing

Whether you are on twitter and your dad walks in, or you are shopping for presents for your kids and they walk in, you can quickly minimise the window by pressing the WinKey (The windows logo in a circle) and D. This will minimise all windows so they will not know a thing.

6. Pinning a document to the task bar

If you are working on a document and you don’t want to keep looking for it, then when you have the program open (lets say its Microsoft word), right-click on the logo on the task bar and click pin this program to the task bar. Now drag a file from your documents onto the logo of the program, now right-click on the logo again and you will see the file at the top of the list.

5. Sticky Notes

No need for Post-It notes stuck on your fridge that keep falling off any more. Search for a program called Sticky Notes in the start menu, then you can write notes and stick them to your desktop, where they wont fall off!

4. New paint

Remember that old paint program that was just about good for doodling? Well now its been improved so check it out!

3. Split screen

If you are working on two documents and get annoyed having to keep flicking through them, drag one window to the left of the screen and it will fill the left of the screen, and drag the other document to the right of the screen and it will fill the right side of the screen. Also if you drag a document to the top of the screen it will fill the whole page!

2. Quickly change windows

Hold the Alt button and press tab to choose the window you are looking for. Handy if you have lots of windows open.

1. Cycle through windows

Another way of doing the same as above, but its more glamorous. Hold the WinKey and hold tab. WOW!

Top Ten Ways to keep children occupied on an aeroplane.

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, I’ve been away 🙂

So here goes:

10. Watch the in-flight movie

If there is a film being shown, see if they want to watch it.

9. Draw a picture of the plane.

Tell your child to draw a picture of the aeroplane, and when they have finished ask an air hostess to give it to the pilot. Don’t forget to put your child’s name on it because the pilot might say thank you over the tannoy system thing (what they talk to you over)!

8. Ask them to spot things on the ground.

Such as rivers, forests, houses, and airports (look for long strips of concrete). You could make a check list, and if they spot all of them you can give them a sweet or something.

7. Look for other planes

Some times you can see other planes flying underneath you or above you. Tell your child to see if they can spot them

6. Look in the in-flight magazine

Both get a copy of the magazine, then one of you look for a product and describe it to the other person, then they have to look for it in the magazine!

5. Be quiet

If you have more than one child, tell them who ever stays silent for the longest wins a sweet or something. After some time of being quiet they will forget and start talking -make sure you pay attention!

4. Two player games

If you or your child has an Ipod Touch or games device, download a game that can have two players on the same iPod, then play the game

3. Guess what time you will arrive

Get your children to write down a time for the following:

  • What time the meals will come
  • When the pilot will next speak
  • What time you will land
  • What time the duty-free will come

Then which ever child gets the closest time to each of these will win!

2. Take pictures

Give your child a camera. That should occupy them for a while. (Make sure they don’t have it on take off or landing)

1. Don’t kick the seat in front.

This can be a real pain for the person in front, so offer your child a prize if they don’t kick the seat in front during the flight.

Top ten tips on saving money (for teenagers)

10. Put it in the bank.

Any spare change you have around, put it in the bank. This makes it harder for you to get to and spend

9. Only take a certain amount of money out.

If you are going to town with your friends, only take say £10. This is really limit what you buy so you save up more.

8. Dont buy a bottle of coke…

…for £1.20 in a shop when you can go to poundland or a discount shop where you can get it cheaper.

7. Limit yourself

to one big purchase a month. If you tend to buy 10 games and 5 DVDs a month, these can really add up. Limit yourself to buying something over £100 to once a month at least, and buying only 3 games or so.

6. Get a job

Whether it is litter picking after a festival or a proper Saturday, get whatever you can. Not only do you get money but you get experience for later in life.

5. Sell old games

So you have lots of games you have completed lying around. What is the chance you are going to play them again? Sell them!!!

4. Change up money

If you have a tub of 1ps sitting around, get the bank to change them into £1 coins, then you can add that to what your limit is on taking shopping

3. Dont buy unwanted stuff.

Sweets. Do you really want them? Are you going to be upset you didn’t buy any? i dont think so.

2. Why buy a new game?

When your mate is selling his one for half the price. Just wipe off his data and start again!

1.  Get in the right frame of mind.

Your not going to be able to save money when all your thinking is ‘i really want to buy this and that and this!’. Think to yourself ‘if i buy this, i can’t buy the other thing i want, which one do i want more?’
